Our Next Surrey League (Spring League) Begins March 3rd 2017
Deadline to Register: February 24th
PROGRAM DETAILS
All of our games take place at St. Bernadette Private School at 13130 65b avenue, Surrey BC on Friday evenings. Our Surrey location is a full size basketball gymnasium with bleachers. A regular Surrey League season operates on an eleven week schedule. The first 8 weeks consist of regular season games and the last 3 weeks consist of playoff play. Each week a team plays one game that lasts an hour in duration. Each game is refereed by Roundball experienced and BCBOA certified referees. Every game operates for two 20 minute halves with stoppage time for fouls, substitutions and timeouts. Each game is operated off the gymnasium digital scoring system for the convenience of players and staff.
MEDIA CONTENT
Our league takes statistics of every game in four statistical categories. These include player points, rebounds, assists and steals. Therefore individual statistic leaders, game results and team standings are posted every week on the league website. Roundball is also the only league in the lower mainland that provides video highlight reels of each of our games on our Facebook page. We also provide shorter clips on our Instagram page as well as Player of the Week reels. We take great pride in providing the all around basketball experience for our athletes. By the end of the playoffs, the winning team is awarded with a championship trophy with their team name engraved on the trophy. We also provide individual awards based on the statistics of each of our leaders and top performers. Dependent upon the statistical outcomes of each season, awards potentially included are: MVP, Rebound King, Top Play Maker, Top Scorer & Top Defensive Player.
LIABILITY & SAFETY
Each player must read and sign a Roundball player code of conduct. The code of conduct waiver addresses the risk associated with competitive participation and outlines the player’s acceptance of this risk and the expectation of appropriate sportsmanlike behavior. A fully equipped Saint John’s Ambulance first aid kit & attendant is always on site when needed. The league director is available by phone or email to resolve any league related areas of concern.
