Thank you for your registration into the Roundball Burnaby Spring League. We are pleased to announce that our games will be taking place  at 7777 18th St, Burnaby BC – Byrne Creek Secondary School. This is an great full sized facility with hardwood floors and glass backboards.

ENTERING THE PROPERTY

Our site manager has asked we enter and exit through the gymnasium entrance of the school which is located near the back of the school directly behind the large school soccer field. On this side of the school you will also find ample parking. Please do not enter through the main school entrance. Please Contact Nate @ 604 771 1563 if there are any problems or concerns regarding this procedure.  Do give yourself ample time on opening night to familiarize yourself with this process.

REGISTRATION & RULES

Once in the facility, on the night of your first game players must simply attend the scores table to pay their hundred dollar registration fee and sign their code of conduct waiver.   Captains, allow for your team to arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled game time and please initiate this registration process for your teammates.  The faster we take care of registration the sooner we will be able to get started. Due to time restraints, we would prefer if all players arrived at least 10 minutes before their scheduled game time on a weekly basis. Please refer to the game times on the schedule as the times we will be Tipping Off. If you do not have enough suited players come game time your team will suffer a forfeit. Specific Roundball League Rules are attached here in our Roundball League Rulebook Document. Please  review them so you are aware of some of the particular house league guidelines our program operates under.

PROFESSIONALISM

For the efficiency of our scorers table, referees and the professionalism of our program please also ensure your players have same colour numbered jerseys. Players with off colours that do not match the rest of the team will not be permitted on the court. Ordered Roundball jerseys can be picked up at the scorers table. According to the schedule the first team is considered “Home” (white) and the second team is considered “Away” (black) off colours will not be permitted.

DIVISION POWER RANKINGS & SCHEDULE

Attached in this email is our league schedule for only the first week of play (April 11th & 12th). The official full season schedule will be released by Saturday April 15th via Facebook, Instagram and our website. Our scheduling has been done this way to ensure each team is assessed accurately and receives a competitive & fair schedule. Due to the high interest in our program this Spring and also for the competitive benefit of our players, we will likely be having two divisions this season. This may not be a permanent future endeavor, but rather something that would be best based on our turn out for this season. Therefore, your teams performance in their week one game will determine what division they will compete in for the remainder of the season. After week one, teams will be Power Ranked from 1 – 18. Nine teams will then be selected to play in our Elite division and Nine teams will be selected to play in our Competitive Division.

This season, each team will have one bye week along with a one week break where the gym will be used for for BC Electoral Voting. None of these dates will effect the standard amount of games given per season to all teams. Our Spring League will simply extend to accommodate for the particular nights off.

SOCIAL MEDIA

To stay connected and up to date with the league please follow us on our social media accounts. We already have great highlight clips and  & up to date team standings & player statistics that are all posted on a weekly basis! brief clips are posted on Instagram with longer length full game highlights posted on our community organization Facebook page & Youtube page. If you have a great game you have the chance to end up on your own player of the week highlights mixtape. Along with this every player has an opportunity to end up on our weekly top 5 plays of the week highlight reel.

COMMUNICATION

On a final note, for effective administration we communicate with our team captains. Captains are then expected to relay the information on to their players. Please do your best to be in communication with us regarding all your concerns and any potential situations where you may need to forfeit a game. The last thing we want is for a team to arrive without another team present to play, therefore proper communication is key. We are excited about the upcoming season and look forward to another competitive league. Good luck to your team and see you on Tuesday or Wednesday.
